I used to eat here whenever I was in Jackson on business. This place is the real deal. Great soul food that will put a pound on you. Fried or stewed chicken, BBQ, ribs, terrific meat loaf, mashed sweet potatoes, green beans with bacon, great corn bread. My mouth waters just thinking about it. The whole neighborhood turns out to eat. As Cab Calloway said: "Everybody eats when they come to my house!" If you're hungry @ lunch time while passing thru on I-55 or I-20, make this your stop. Beats the hell out of those horrible chains.
Great food. Really enjoyed the music while we dined. Cornbread is really good and I'm not really a big fan of cornbread so that's saying a lot! I got the meatloaf, greens, green beans, and squash. My wife got red beans and rice, mac and cheese and lima beans, and she enjoyed her meal as well. Will definitely return! Dining room needs a little work but I came for the food and I was not disappointed. Thank you!

Loved it! Great place for traditional soul food including the environmental vibe!! I had the smothered pork chop and asked them to throw in a pig feet! I added black-eyed peas and dressing for the sides and ate my way into a new heaven!!! Loved every single morsel and tried to eat the styrofoam plate but they said that wouldn't be right. The sweet tea was great as well!!
Delicious..food home cooked..people friendly..this my first visit to Mississippi...I ate pizza my first night..found great food the next day..Everyone should eat here.... I will next time I'm here.....Thanks for great food and service
Was a good wait we stayed for our fish for about 15min but it was good and fresh, the people there was very nice and the food smelled amazing. I am glad I went here with my sis and 2 nephews they loved it as well, THX AGAIN LADIES! The service also was so homely thank you!
